In the spring of 2023 I spent two weeks in the Broumov Monastery, for an art residency in the frame of the Broumov Illustration Symposium. And these were some of the best days of my life, not only because of the gorgeous surroundings, but also because I got to work in the company of amazing fellow illustrators.

The final installation included six portraits of characters I either met, been or heard about in Broumov, and many more possibilities! The four textile cubes were designed for interaction, and the public could create new characters. Each box was 33cm tall, painted with acrylic and filled with polyester for extra resistance.

I had two weeks to refine the concept and finish the giant toy, completed with studio space and all the paints I could eat (real paints! with real brushes! with real drying time, I forgot that was a thing!) Below You can see some of the preparatory sketches :).
